Ray McKiernan M.A is a director, specialist skills trainer, lecturer, and training consultant with the Stress Management Institute. Having completed his clinical training in Mind-Body Medicine in the Harvard Medical School in Boston, he became certified as a Stress & Wellness consultant with the internationally renowned Hans Selye Foundation in Canada. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Stress.
Ray is Ireland’s leading authority on evidence based interventions for managing pressure and building resilience in the workplace. He has in-depth experience delivering skills development programmes for employees working under pressure. Ray designs and deliveres specialist resiliency based programmes for managing pressure to senior managers at some of the most progressive organizations working in Ireland and Europe including three Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work for based in Ireland.
Having designed and delivered the Stress Management Instructor training to the Irish Defence forces, he recently delivered a specialist intervention for the clinical teams working in an international centre of excellence in cancer care. He delivers stress management trainer programmes to occupational health professionals working in many areas including Human Resources, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Employee Assistance, Occupational Therapy and Palliative care. He is also a specialist skills trainer on stress, pressure and burnout to psychotherapy students at postgraduate level.
A seasoned international conference speaker, Ray is an invited speaker at the recent Irish Medical Organisation’s National Conference on Engaging for Change and was recently voted best speaker at the European Health Conference hosted by the Actuarial Profession. In addition, he presents specialist seminars to many different professional organizations including The Central Bank, IBEC, The Institute of Bankers, The Law Society, The Sales Institute, The Actuarial Profession, The Employee Assistance Professionals Association, The Irish Dental Association, The Migraine Association and Concern Worldwide and many others. Ray is a keynote speaker on IBEC's Who's Blue programme on Stress Anxiety and Depression in the workplace.
Susan is clinical director of the Stress Management Institute. She holds a BA in pure psychology from UCD and graduated with a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Trinity College Dublin. Susan is a lecturer on the Masters in Counselling Psychology at TCD. She also lectures in psychology and psychotherapy at Hibernia College and DBS School of Arts. Susan has lectured on Behavioural Science and Human Development in the School of Medicine, TCD and is an experienced facilitator on workshop topics such as Coping Skills, Working with Patients with Cancer, Resilience and Self Care Skills.
